This documentary deals with the cultural heritage in the Mediterranean, a move that comes within the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the promotion of this heritage rich and distinguished by

Spotlight on three projects funded by the Euromed Heritage: « Des Fondations pour un Avenir Solide », « Mare Nostrum » et « Medliher »
« Des Fondations pour un Avenir Solide » is a project for young Lebanese and Jordanians, whose objective is the promotion of cultural heritage, education delivred to youth, in partnership with museums.
«Mare Nostrum » target the enhancement of the historical heritage of the Mediterranean port cities located along the phoenician sea route. The final objective of the Mare Nostrum: reactivate tourism in cities and contribute to their development.
«MedLiHer» aims to backup intangible heritage area, the project aims at strengthening the institutional capacity of the four Mediterranean partner countries to participate in international mechanisms for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and development of protective measures with the participation of communities and groups involved in each country

Abd El Kader gestion des villes du 22/08/10

C’est à travers un illustre personnage, l’Emir Abdelkader (1808-1883, homme politique et chef militaire algérien ayant résisté au colonialisme français, exilé à Damas à partir de 1853) , et un lieu emblématique, son palais à Damas, que le documentaire traite de la question de l’aménagement et de la gestion des villes. L’Emir Abdelkader est notamment connu à Damas pour son humanisme et sa tolérance (il a protégé les chrétiens et les européens de Damas contre les agressions druze et musulmane de 1860) et son apport à la culture de la vie communautaire et citadine. Son palais à Damas a été rénové grâce au soutien de l’Union Européenne (UE) et a été choisi comme siège des activités de cette dernière dans le domaine de l’aménagement des villes, un programme appuyé par l’UE et dont les premiers résultats sont visibles dans la vieille ville de Damas considérée comme la capitale la plus ancienne au monde.
