A center for treatment and solid waste composting funded by the European Commission has up to one million euros will be launched in 2010 to put an end to archaeological and environmental disaster, a real threat to public health. This uncontrolled landfill, where 40 municipalities dump their solid waste daily is on the Roman archaeological site of Baalbek.
