The women business leaders forum and business forum preceding the Ministerial meeting is held in Marrakech. The meeting is targeting private sector participants of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme, including business associations and chambers of commerce from MENA and OECD countries.
The event is organised in cooperation with women's business associations from Egypt, Arab and African countries and it highlights key issues for enhancing the participation of women in the economy. Its objectives are to establish a dialogue and an action plan among regional bodies for improving the economic role of women as a mechanism for reducing unemployment and increasing economic performance.
One of the first meeting debates at the forum addresses key issues related to the role of private sector in spurring economic development in the MENA region, with particular regard to the creation of linkages between foreign direct investment and domestic markets and effective measures to communicate the achievement and benefits of reform to stakeholders and the population.

The Jazz Chellah festival closed in a blaze of glory on Monday (June 14th), with leading Moroccan musician Majid Bekkas thrilling the audience in the capital city.
The 15 edition of Chellah Jazz Festival (June 10th-14th) continues the jazz shows by the participation of Moroccan and European artists. The five-day musical event welcomes artists from Spain, France, Italy and Poland, as well as Moroccan musicians based in Europe. The festival is the longest-established and has built itself a world reputation over the years.
Rabat hosts the Jazz Chellah festival from June 10th to14th. Some forty artists from 14 countries participate in the event, organised since 1996 by the European Commission Delegation to Morocco.

The first Morocco-EU business summit opened on Saturday in the Spanish southern city of Granada. The ambassador Eneko Landaburu, head of the EU delegation in Morocco explains that the results of cooperation between Morocco and the European Union (EU) in 2009 are positive and are part of the strategic approach of promoting ties between the two sides.
The committee responsible for developing the plan of action on democracy and human rights with the collaboration of European union commission organized a meeting with the governor of the Ombudsman, Mr. Mohammed Iraqi , and the members of the institution to study and analyze the priority themes of the Plan.
