Craftswomen in the locality of Goléa situated in the province of Ghardaia, at some 850 kms South of Algiers, make their living thanks to carpet weaving activity. A modern carpet weaving unit created by Ms Fatima Hadjadj thanks to a financial aid from the European union is indeed a good opportunity for these women.
Launched two years ago, this weaving unit is really contributing to the preservation of carpet weaving activity which makes the fame of the region and to the improvement of these handicraft women and their families’ living conditions.
