Playing fields for youth and children have been fitted out in various quarters of Homs city located at some 150 kms north of Damascus .These playing grounds allow them to practice sport in a secure and safe environment .
This project has been achieved in collaboration with the counsel of Homs city and its municipalities with the financial support of the European Union as part of MAM program which consists in Improving towns management .
EPTV, the national Algerian television has just opened a TV window dedicated to programmes produced by its neigbor, JRTV, the national Jordanian television !

Joussour 7 - Training centre for disabled people

The disabled persons association in the province of Ain Defla, at 150 KM west of Algiers spare no efforts to help disabled people of the region. Thanks to the assistance of the European Union, the association managed to setup a training center to ensure a better insertion of the disabled people in the socio economic life .
The closure of ONG2 project in Algeria was marked by the holding of a national symposium in the province of Tipasa west of Algiers .
The assessment of the project was high on the agenda of this symposium attended by the ambassador of the European union to Algeria, the minister of national solidarity as well as a great number of associations which benefited from UE support in the frame work of ONG2 project.

"Our green planet " led by a group of volunteer youth and children is a very active association in Lattaqee located on the Mediterranean basin ,at some 300 kms north of Damascus . These volunteers supervised by environment experts lead various actions mainly the recycling of wastes.
The inhabitant of the locality of Beni Souik in the province of Biskra , some 500 km south east of Algiers, have benefited from the rehabilitation of an irrigation source (sakia), a small project with an important socio economic impact on the entire region. This project allowed the farmers to resume their agricultural activities with a view to improving their living conditions.
The European Neighboring Policy was the subject of a training session in Brussels attended by a number of journalists from the Southern Basin of the Mediterranean during the period going from February 28th to March 6TH 2010. This training sessions to which a journalist from the Algerian Television has taken part allowed journalists to tackle important issues pertaining to the European Neighboring Policy.

The delegation of the European Union has made a donation of 60 kidney dialysis machines to the health ministry , 20 machines were destined to the public hospitals of Damascus and 40 ones were given to public hospitals of various provinces over the country .
The modernization of the health sector in Syria stands in the core of the Syrian government and the European Union concerns having as a main objective the improvement of the Syrian citizens and the Iraqi refugees in Syria health care .
This initiative is part of the development plan of the health sector considered as the most important cooperation program which budget amounts to 39 million Euros

WSSPRC, project to install a water supply and sewerage in two refugees camps in the rural governorate of Damascus. The cost of the project is 8 million euros. Half completed, WSSPRC aims to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees living in these densely populated camps.
As part of ONG II project supported by the European Union in Algeria, the health association of Algiers province is leading an anti smoking campaign in the educational environment under the slogan "life without tobacco".
The initiative witnessed a great success in the school where it has started thanks to the involvement of the teaching and supervisory staff.

Still in the frame work of ONG II project Shems El Ghed association which (literally means tomorrow's sun) is leading in the province of Algiers various actions consisting in social and cultural support in favor of the non ambulant and mentally handicapped persons.
Supported by the European Union, the rural proximity project is destined to help in several ways the rural population of the provinces of Ghardaia, M'Sila and Bouira located in the southern an south eastern regions of the capital Algiers
This project allowed the rural population of Ghardaia situated at some 600 kms south of Algiers to benefit from building materials to undertake fitting out works in their ancient palm groves.
The region of Sidi Yahya KERDOUCHE in the province of Jijel some 400 kms east of the capital Algiers is one of the regions that have benefited from the Socio-Economic Development Assistance Program ( PADSEL-NEA ) which implementation has started to bear fruits.
Batna province located at some 400 km east of Algiers is a region that is equally concerned by PADSEL-NEA program .
Thanks to the European union assistance M. Djoubib has launched a micro project in the field of beekeeping. This young farmer is today hardly working with the determination to make his project a success and to improve his socio economic conditions .
Craftswomen in the locality of Goléa situated in the province of Ghardaia, at some 850 kms South of Algiers, make their living thanks to carpet weaving activity. A modern carpet weaving unit created by Ms Fatima Hadjadj thanks to a financial aid from the European union is indeed a good opportunity for these women.
